Has anyone else with an Urban noticed the rain soaks into the seat foam through the stitching? I use my bike in all weathers, and the other day it sat out in the rain at work. The cover had dried off when I rode home, but I got back with a wet arse from the soaked foam letting water back through the seams. It takes days to dry and I'm concerned the foam will rot?
Anyone else noticed this on any other model?

Must be coming in the seams. I wonder if silicone spray would help?

I think it would make the seat slippery? I might call my dealer but I think I'd be wasting my time.

I'm thinking not as slippery as a wet arse.:blue: There are products specifically made to waterproof suede that are not shiny.

It's not suede it's vinyl, so any coating wouldn't work :-(

Mine was out in the lashing rain a few times when I did my weekend in Scotland but I don't remember it having soaked through to the foam.

Look around at camping supply outfits and you should find seam sealer that is used on nylon tents to waterproof the seams. You will need to search vendors of real serious outdoor equipment to find it. Back ( a lifetime ago) when I was spending large amounts of time in the mountains we used it once the seams started to get a bit wonky. Worth a look.

I have the same problem. Pretty sure my dealer will be NFI about it.
I see some decent waterproofing products out there.

I've actually left my UE in the rain and haven't had this issue. Granted I park under a tree sometimes but it does get wet. I also washed it with a hose and didn't notice anything soaking in. Also road in the rain and the only thing not wet was my butt and the rear of my pants. Are there different seats out there for the UE?

As far as I'm aware all the UE seats are the same? If yours has stitching that's where mine seams to soak up the water? Notice the pun in there ;-)

I guess you guys are meaning the sides of the seat. Honestly haven't noticed it on mine. Even when sitting down after washing it my butt was dry.
