Picked up my EU on monday and are of for first trip to a Horizons Unlimited trip this weekend in Marysville Victoria Australia, its about 300 kms from my place. The way there will be at ,east 100kms dirt road , followed by great twisties !
I have already put a rear rack on to carry my camping gear, its a Vantura rack I had on a previous bike. I just had to cut off the rack mounting points and reweld them to suite the UE mounting points ( at the same time saving me over 300.00 AUS to bye one.
Will be filming trip away and will put on UTUBE ,,only real compliant I have so far is the seat is like a plank of 4bye2 - will be getting it moded.

Is quite easy just cut the mounting points of the rack with an angle grinder with metal cutting disc and re-weld back with a mig Welder ( do not this attached to the bike otherwise may fry electrics ) and weld on we're Scrambler mounting points are , use white marker to mark sport on rank etc

Good job with the Ventura rack, I've got a leftover one laying around that I might try the same with. Only thing I find with them is they seem to have a fair bit of flex when the bag is loaded up, if you have the space behind you I'd suggest reversing the bag and sitting it on the seat, especially if you are doing some dirt that might get it bouncing a bit. Also gives you a nice backrest for the boring bits.

As for the seat let it break in a bit before you decide to get it redone, waiting costs nothing except maybe a sore arse for a little while. Same with the suspension if you find it too hard remember, everything settles with age. After 4000km I've found the stock suspension and my seats (I have Icon and FT seats) are both fine once they had broken in.

I just got back from first big trip on the Urban Enduro UE , I must say that I'm externally impressed , the bike done around 800kms return to the Horizons unlimited meeting in Maryville Victoria Australia. The way there was a mix of back sealed roads with excellent twisters and about 130kms of dirt road ( that was quite bad lots of loser gravel and muddy sections and it handled it so well ! 2,friends of mine took an older and newer model V- Strom 650s and the UE outperformed both off them on the dirt and in the twisties , my only two complaints are the seat is like a brick and the false natural between 5 and 6th gear. Also on theway back was on freeway for about 220 kms , it wasn't that bad would just need a small screen to cut down the buffering , also the EU was the only one at Horizons and the interest from a lot of Adventgure riders was Hugh ! So I officially impressed .
