Unseen Problem- first service

I've never had a problem servicing my motorcycles myself or taking them to the dealer for service if I chose to. My problem, that I didn't forsee, is the closest Ducati dealer is 100+ miles away from me.

I see Ducati made it so you would need an electronic reset after the service. What a PITA. I'm assuming it will have to be electronically reset after each service even after the warranty expires?

What does everyone else do? Dealer service only? That could get pretty expensive.

I think Rexxer has it figured out but you have to pay dearly as a private citizen to buy the gear they sell that would allow it.

Otherwise it's still the dealer's computer to get it reset. Like most things in life that I don't care about, I find it really easy to ignore the oil service icon because it's not a red light and it's not flashing. It just blends into the display like the permanent black bars they've drawn on.

What milage is it supposed to come on? I'm 600+ and haven't hit it yet.

You won't see it until around 670 miles

Mine came on at about 620 miles.

It comes on at 620 miles because that is 1000kms - Ducati is Italian where they use kms

Mine came on at 623. Just like the dealer said it would.

I'm going to the first service tomorrow, March 5. I've had the Icon since October. I ride it for fun, not distance. It took awhile to get to 600 mi.

Just wait until you get it's been a year email and tells you you need an "inspection"
