One thing to take into consideration is the charging current of the standard USB outlet. My Sled -21 has one just as "ieatdirt" -22.
But it is only capable of charging with 1A, sufficient to make the phone battery last longer or charge when not in use.
But, when I'm using my phone as a GPS it draws more power then the USB outlet can deliver.
Maybe an higher "A" rating alternative from another supplier will fit in the slot?
I've installed quadlocks phone holder and charger (2A) in company with their antivibration holder thingy - very happy with that setup!
USB under seat will be charging a powerbank while riding, to allow phone charging of grid during night.
