Hi,

this is question for any UK Ducati owners. Is it right that dealers charge for any initial warranty assessment work? I had to take my bike in because of a rattle and the dealer found a warranty fault, albeit not related to the rattle, and charged me £85. He said that when I bring my bike back to have the part fixed this will be cover FOC. Why do they not cover the assessment when a fart failure is found, car dealers do it so why not bike dealers?

Hi.
Is your bike under the original first 2 years warranty or is it a dealer offered extended warranty. Some extended warranties have a pre-fee that has to be paid.
Did the 85$ cover the cost to fix/diagnose the rattle? Or was it separate and only for the discovered warranty part requirement?

Dealerships can do or ask whatever they want, if the client is willing to pay. If this cost was only to assess the warranty requirement......and considering this will be reimburse to them when they claim the warranty to Ducati...
I would ask for a reimbursement.
Good luck
