In page 732 from this workshop manual is something shown on the upper photo. What is that ? ... a tool ?
Also the describtion is not correct how to tightening the nut. For that a special tool 88713.2801 is needed and never mentioned anywhere. No details about the clutch plates, because they are very different from other clutches I know from Ducati. How to refit the plates is not described clearly ... You need to be a well adjucated mechanic to do this job and understand the system , also imagination may help. Crazy kind of clutch - my opinion )

A few of us have opted for a Barnett replacement clutch. A very standard set-up from what I can gather. I also believe (though I don't know for sure) Ducati changed the part number of their clutch for the 800 recently so maybe things have changed, one would hope for the better.

Do a search but this is a fairly recent thread:
