Melcodiag with Windows 11 and bluetooth interface.

I have successfully reset my service warnings using Windows 11 and the Bluescan II OBD2 bluetooth interface from Lonelec. The bluetooth unit was £13 and designed to work with all ELM327 based OBD2 software.

However, there are a couple of extra initial steps required with Windows 11 before following Ducati_Passion’s guide.

1. Windows 11 will not see the OBD2 device without a change in the computers Bluetooth settings:
  • Go to Settings
  • Select Bluetooth & devices
  • In the ‘Devices section,’ click on the > next to ‘Add device’
  • Scroll down to the ‘Bluetooth devices discovery’ section and select Advanced
  • First problem solved, you will now see the OBD2 interface in your new devices and can connect to it.
2. Microsoft in all their wisdom have decided to hide the com ports in Windows 11. To see them:
  • Go to Device Manager
  • Select View from the top menu
  • From the popup menu, select Show hidden devices
  • You will now see the com port in the list of devices and can set the correct port settings in the properties menu. Note that the Bluescan II interface will have two com ports – one to send & one to receive (Standard Serial over Bluetooth link COM3 & COM5).
Good luck!!!
Works great! I found 4 comm port on BT driver. Try in all of them. The 3r is the port that works for me, but the connection drop in the 2nd minute.

Thanks

Hi Tribe,
So I successfully connected my install of MelcoDiag to my 2020 Desert Sled (US spec), woohoo! I just got the license file from JPL, but this warning gave me pause:
"If UMAP is loaded, do not lose it, please unload it before doing any resets."
My bike has an Arrow exhaust and runs perfectly so I assume it has an upmap. No idea how to unload the UMAP and save it? Others have not had an issue as far as I can tell, but since this was done to the bike before I owned it, I have no idea where that UMAP original map might be aside from the ECM itself.

I have the same question... I see it has not yet been answered. Anyone? Bueler?...
As I understood JP last year, heated grips activation wasnt working for scrambler 800. From memory I've offered JP to use my bike with heated grips as a reference to compare the coding between a bike without heated grips and mine with heated grips.
I think theres an active thread at JPs about it.

Thanks. I tried to log in to that forum without luck.

After doing some searching on Ducati.ms, I decided to take the plunge on an Ancel MT510. It supports quite a lot and folks are generally positive from what I see (supports quite an array of Ducs, even my Paul Smart). I will post up my experiences.

Unfortunately no .i had my turned on couple week back at ducati mcr
Yeah, I reached out to JP and he did respond... there is a screen for doing it, but not the screen that comes up with the Scrambler ECM type. The correspondence stopped there.

I ordered and have received an ANCEL OBDII reader that does the job. Looking forward to comparing functionality.

Ducati only charged me £27
👍

That's a steal. The dealer is two hours away from me, and charges a half hour for this stuff (about $80), so... inconvenient to say the least.

OBD with ELM327 chip is correct.
I bought from Lonelec.
Cable Euro5 (EuroV) OBD2 6 Pin Plug Adaptor Cable (OBD2 Reader) - Lonelec

ELM327 - OBD2 Wireless Bluetooth Fault Code Live Data Reader V1.5 - Lonelec

This kit seems to be same same but not wireless-
Awesome. Thanks for the links!

I’ve been trying to reset my annual service now for a couple of weeks without any luck. Using the same Elm as posted above, I can connect to the bike with “Any bike” but reset does not work. Bike is a 2021 Sled.
Any tips?

If you've gotten your license from JP your Sled should be able to be reset.
Same year, 2021, as mine, it took JP a good few hours to actually access the ECU on my bike.
Is the service indicator lit on your bike? As I understood it, its not possible to reset before indicating for service.

I might just be an idiot. I had to double check now that you asked, and the light is not active, but the countdown is… thanks! :)

how did the ancel do?
I see on ebay it's only about $330. "ANCEL MT510 Motorcycle OBD2 Scanner Diagnostic Tool Full System Fit for Ducati"
I don't think it would be worth it to buy just to remove the annual service prompt, but i do have a general warning light connected to the abs I would like to figure out.
