@Mrprovy - Are you happy with the mutants? My rear is up for change next spring at probably 20tkm, I'll be looking for a more only street/gravel biased tyre that will let me do some careful offroading. Based on what I've read the mutants is exactly the tyre that I need/want :)

I LOVE them! So much more stable, especially at low speed

Do you compare them against the Rally STR or other any other tyre?
I'm running Mitas E07, quite similar to STR but noisier and less grip on tarmac.
Have you done any gravel or trails with them? E07+ excels in those areas compared to STR. Would like to keep the gravel performance but are willing to sacrifice trail performance.

I can only compare it to the first 5000 miles I did on the OEM tires, as this is my first bike. I have Road through some gravel parking lots without an issue, but that has been the extent of anything off the pavement I've done

how do these ride on asphalt?
Actually really good, they have quite stiff sidewalls and aggressive tread so they will send some more vibrations to the driver.
If you're a serious corner carver this ain't the tire for you. But - if you ride in good pace and doesn't push the bike to its limits all the time there's nothing to complain about.
Also handles wet asphalt ok, but to be honest I do not push my bike when it's wet, I like my body a little bit to much :)
Longevity is really good, been riding really long stretches in warm weather 30+ Celsius 70-80mph without the tire becoming to soft and wormy.

My scrambler with TKC80s front and rear. The rear is the stock size, with tube. The front is a 4.00X18 rear tire mounted in reverse, also with tube. I'm expecting to get somewhere between 400-4500 miles out of the rear and probably over 6000 miles out of the front tire. The tires perform surprisingly well on pavement. They'll lean, and grip, a lot more than I'm typically comfortable doing on knobby tires. I will say that they are pretty loud, lots of hum/whine above 30mph, but once I'm above 65mph the wind noise overrides the road noise. Offroad they are incredible! The trails I ride vary by season, but are usually either soft sand or thick mud depending on rainfall. I've been stuck once and that was more rider error than any fault of the tire.
These look amazing!

Hi, just seen your post about the Mutants but I'm actually interested in the hard panniers. What are they and how much do they hold? TIA, David.
Hepco & Becker Orbit 15L side cases...I absolutely love having them! One side houses a trauma kit, sunglasses, rags and a few other things, and the other side is my day to day case for action camera case, water bottle or small lunch bag, sweatshirt, etc. I have them keyed alike to me to case, so I only need 1 extra key with my bike key. There pretty strong too; in conjunction with the Evotech sliders, they protect the pedals from touching the ground if tipped over.

Here's the US link, but I bought mine from epithet Chromeburner or Motardin (I don't recall which one) for significantly less. They do require the C-Bow mounting bracket.

Many thanks for the prompt reply 👍

I'm in the United Kingdom so will have a look at stockists here.

Particularly like that you can lock them to the bike as everything else I've found just sits on its carrier and can be detached at just the press of a button 😳

Being able to lock my stuff was one of the main features that attracted me to these
