I have had my 1100 for two weeks now. A the first service I would like to get the full termi manifold and silencer kit fitted. Has anyone done this and what are the gains after remapping. I did the same on my 800 icon and it gave loads of extra low down stomp which is really useful, not to mention a way cool exhaust note.

Yes! I can imagine you can't wait till tomorrow. Really curious about the Akra's and what you think of them. I hope you post a lot of pictures when they are in.
I should have an update on the pipes from my dealer tomorrow. During the holidays Akrapovic was closed so they couldn't give me an expected delivery time yet.

Well at least I had my first service today. Clean bill of health all OK.
Complained of the bolts being made of cheese, the service manager agreed but gave one tip for removing them. Ducati apparently use red locktite on their bolts so when removing a problem one insert the Allen or Torx key and heat it with a flame, blow lamp or similar to achieve a temperature of (I can’t remember deg.C)and this will melt the loctite so the bolt can be removed. If this doesn’t work or you set your bike on fire don’t blame me.

I think you are right in thinking they are taking the p**s. I also haven't got a delivery date and wonder if any have left the factory yet.
We'll have to wait and see when the first systems surface.

No supplier is going to give up so easy on a $1000 shipment... they would have had tracking details that they provided you if it had been shipped...
My guess they sold it as in stock when it was not and still waiting Akra to ship... that will be direct to you..
I really detest sellers selling things they have no stock of..... ocassionally they can run out.... but most times they are just drop ship selling at margin...
I bought something a few years back from ebay... 3 days later an Amazon parcel arrives.... They sold something on ebay that someone else was selling on Amazon... held in Amazon warehouse... I then searched and it was like £5 cheaper on Amazon.... than I paid on ebay..... the difference was like 20% of price so seller probably made £2.50 for acting as a middle man.... after paying ebay fees...

My dealer updated me today and expect the Akra's to be delivered by them tommorow or Saturday. Then they have to take out the db killers and give me a call so I can pick them up wich will hopefully be the next weekend(but might be later as they are often verry busy with many customers having their service done in the winter time). We'll see how it goes but will keep you updated.

Awesome news! Can't wait to see and hear them. Will the db killers be reusable? Or will they have to destroy them to get them out?

I can't wait either! I'm guessing they will be reusable as Akrapovic already made 2 holes with rubber plugs to hide the bolts but we will know when the take them out.

O wow, that's a great looking machine. When will they be delivered to customers though?
The Akra's on the FTR might be a bit easier to remove the db killers from as they have a straight opening at the front to so when you drill out the weld you can tap them out with a hammer and a piece of pipe. Look for the post with instructions and pictures by SergioPinto over here:

That's quite a wait. I'm pretty sure it will be worth it though.
Personally I think that the Indian FTR 1200, the Triumph Speed Twin and the Ducati Scrambler 1100 are the coolest looking big retro streetbikes to hit the streets.

When I bought my Desert Sled I ordered it mid November, and picked her up in April.
The FTR1200 is worse though, I told my dealer I wanted one in June, way before it was revealed and made a deposit in July (#1 on their list). They unveiled it in October, and now the wait.....

Got the call from my dealer today that the Akrapovic arrived!
Now they have to take the db killers out and then it will be ready for me to pick it up this friday or saturday if every thing goes well.
Can't wait to pick them up and I hope the weather this weekend allowes me to mount them to the bike.
